California Athletic Trainers’ Association

The California Athletic Trainers’ Association’s (CATA) goal is to educate the public about the scope of practice of a certified athletic trainer and the importance of having them readily available at sporting events, particularly at the high school level. In 2006 and again in 2009, CATA has sought to require statewide licensure of athletic trainers to help prevent athletes from serious injuries. We’ve brought attention to the issue through media education, publicity and social media.
