Jill Esterbrooks - PR Consultant

Jill Esterbrooks is an award-winning journalist and public relations practitioner. With more than 20 years of experience working with some of Southern California’s top public relations and advertising agencies, she’s managed client accounts ranging from lodging and hospitality to real estate, financial services, bio tech and life sciences.

A prolific writer, Jill is also a regular contributor to such regional publications as San Diego Magazine, San Diego Daily Transcript, North County Times and BIA Builder Magazine, and ghost writes expert pieces for architects, interior designers, homebuilders and hoteliers.

Jill holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University where she wrote for the campus newspaper and was on the publications staff for the IU Foundation. Her first job upon graduation was as a staff writer for the Blade-Tribune (now the North County Times) followed by account management positions for the public relations firms of Stoorza, Zieguas & Metzer and Berkman & Daniels Marketing Communications.

She also served as the Public Information Officer and Media Relations Manager for the San Diego County Fair, where her responsibilities included guest services, as well as extensive media relations and crisis communications for one of the largest year-round county fairgrounds operations in the U.S.

Active in the community, she’s served as a volunteer PIO for the American Red Cross, vice president of the PTA, committee chair for the North Park Summer Concerts in the Park, and publicist for the annual Janis Fitch Pro-Am Tennis and Golf Tournament to benefit the Polster Breast Care center.

An avid runner and tennis player, she is a volunteer youth instructor at the Balboa Tennis Club and is on the organizing committee for the inaugural Bike the Bay non-competitive community ride over the San Diego-Coronado Bay Bridge.
